it’s French for “unexpected”

COMING FEBRUARY 2022:

A new restaurant / lounge concept in the Marina neighborhood of San Francisco

My latest freelance project is an upcoming lounge that is anything but expected. The client hired me to create a killer luxury space that the Marina is missing. In one of the most coveted and wealthy neighborhoods in the city, the only nightlife is geared towards the “straight outta college” crowd. Thus, Outre was born. Below were my two concepts for the space! I worked with an interior designer for the furniture inspiration.

My Role: Sole Designer

My Deliverables:

  • Two concept pitches

  • Final identity (logo, colors, fonts)

  • Mural concepts, all interior and exterior artwork and signage

  • Menus, restaurant materials

  • Digital promotion assets

Initial mood boards

Final Brand

My client wanted a mix of both options (as they often do) and really loved the font of “casual nomad” as seen above. So, for my logo option 1 below, I kept the fonts less deco and more broad, but kept the speakeasy vibe alive through the movement of the letters and the eclectic e that feels like it’s being exclaimed. Option 2 was definitely more of a generic feel (which he was saying he’d want) but he ultimately loved option 1! I love how this project is coming along, stay tuned for all of the final photography! Shoutout to Jessica McCarthy of Jam Creative Studio for her interior design prowess!
